The Soos Nature Reserve is located approximately 6 km northeast of Františkovy Lázně. This area of the historic Soos Forest ("Soos silva") with an area of 221 ha was declared a national nature reserve in 1964. However, only a partial part of the reserve is accessible to the public via a 1.2 km long paved nature trail equipped with information boards.
Jurassic Park Pavilion
In addition to the nature trail in Soos, visitors will find a rescue station for injured animals, which is part of the National Network of Stations for Handicapped Animals and has been financially supported by the Czech Social Welfare Organization since 2004. You can also visit the museum exhibition on the nature of the reserve and its surroundings, the extensive exhibition "Bird World of Cheb" and the paleontological exhibition "History of the Earth", which includes life-size models of prehistoric lizards.The entire area is a branch of the Františkovy Lázně Municipal Museum.
