The Zedtwitz Maple is a commemorative sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) tree that grows on a slope in the garden below the building of the city museum in Aš, which was originally the castle of the noble Zdetwitz family. The tree grows on the so-called Mikulášský vrch, which is considered the place of the first settlement of the city and was once the administrative center of Aš. The naming of the commemorative tree commemorates the Zedwitz family (also Zedtwitz), whose members began to build their estates in the Aš region in the 15th century. The tree has a straight trunk, a high regular crown that dries out at the top. The tree reaches a height of 24 m, the trunk circumference measures 405 cm (measured in 2015).The tree has been protected since 2015 as an aesthetically interesting tree, a significant landscape element with significant growth.
